Civil Engineering Department Head (10+ years consulting)
Due to our continued trend of steady and profitable growth over the past 15+ years, we have a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead our northern Indiana Civil Engineering Department.  Preferred candidates will be entrepreneurial and have over 10 years of experience in the study, planning, design and management of successful municipal infrastructure projects; business and client development; staff mentoring and management; funding expertise with agencies such as Rural Development;  facilitating staff, presenting information in client and community meetings; and familiarity with construction and permitting practices. 

This position is available at our Fort Wayne Office and offers the successful candidate an opportunity to become a key player in the continued growth of our firm.

  Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Indiana
  • Experience with Local Public Agency design projects and INDOT technical requirements and procedures. 
  • Excellent Project Management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills

Familiarity of industry practices and regulations   

Senior Project Manager Position – Process Design (10+ years consulting)
Due to our continued trend of steady growth through the recession, we have a unique opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to be a key player in growing our firm. Preferred candidates will have over 10 years of experience in areas such as the study, planning, design and project management of municipal water or wastewater treatment facilities, energy utility and infrastructure projects, funding agencies including Rural Development and familiarity with construction and permitting.  Responsibilities will include understanding, mentoring and managing F&V’s multi-discipline staff, quality control of municipal water and wastewater design projects.  Candidate must be capable of facilitating staff, client and community meetings and presenting project information in public workshops. EOE. 

This position is full-time, but could be part-time for the right candidate.  The position is available at any one of our Michigan or Indiana offices. 

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental or Civil Engineering
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience as a consulting engineer in the design of municipal water, wastewater treatment or energy facilities
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Michigan or Indiana
  • Significant water and wastewater treatment plant design experience including development of conceptual/preliminary designs, detailed design document preparation, and construction administration services
  • Experience in energy conservation, production, facility design or design management is a plus
  • Experience in construction management is a plus
  • Proven experience in effective municipal client management, agency coordination, permitting, preparing and meeting budgets and schedules 
  • Proven experience in staff management and mentoring
  • Proven public communication skills including presentations
  • Proven effective written and oral communications skills
  • Familiarity with industry practices and regulations 

Senior Electrical Engineering Project Manager Position (10+ years consulting)
Due to our continued trend of steady growth through the recession, we have a unique opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineering Project Manager to be a key player in growing our firm. Preferred candidates will have over 10 years of experience in areas such as the study, planning, design, project management and implementation of electrical design related to industrial, municipal water or wastewater treatment facilities, energy utility and infrastructure projects. The candidate will be familiar with codes, construction, permitting and safety.  Responsibilities will include understanding, directing, mentoring and managing electrical design aspects of F&V’s multi-discipline staff. EOE. 

This position is full-time, but could be part-time for the right candidate.  The position is available at our Grand Rapids office. 

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience as a consulting engineer in the design of municipal water, wastewater treatment or energy facilities
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Michigan
  • Significant experience designing and managing electrical projects with power supply, distribution, controls and SCADA at industrial process facilities, water and wastewater treatment plants including development of conceptual/preliminary designs, detailed design document preparation, and construction administration services
  • Experience in energy conservation, production, facility design or design management
  • Business development capability is a plus
  • Experience in construction management is a plus
  • Proven experience in effective client management, agency coordination/negotiations, permitting, preparing and meeting budgets and schedules

Wastewater Treatment Operators
The successful candidates will be experienced with laboratory analyses, and have broad experience with operations at mechanical wastewater treatment plants.  Although not required for this position, a Michigan C certification or higher is preferred.  Operations experience and certifications in water systems is a plus.

Water Treatment Operator
The successful candidate will be experienced with groundwater system operations (small and mid-sized systems) including iron filtration, disinfection and wells.  A Michigan D3 certification or higher is required for this position.

Requirements

The Ideal candidates are operators that have suitable certifications, prior experience in contract operations and at least 5 years of successful operations experience.  Beyond operations, responsibilities will include maintaining positive client relationships; reliable completion of duties necessary for compliance with our contract and state requirements; limited reporting; knowledge of OSHA regulations; strong communication skills; attention to time and budgets; desire to assist with plant evaluation and new opportunities.  Must be able to work effectively with clients, staff and management.

Part Time Water/Wastewater Treatment Operator
Twenty (20) hours per week in the New Waterford/Beloit OH area. The ideal candidate will have broad experience with operations at mechanical water/wastewater treatment plants.  Class 1 Water Operations Certification or higher is preferred, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
