F&V prepared a downtown master plan which identified improvements to the City’s “Second Main Street”. We provided complete design, grant administration and construction engineering services for the construction of three blocks of streetscape enhancements. The amenities include decorative street lighting, brick pavers, site furniture, irrigated street trees and landscaping, decorative brick columns and fencing and a center plaza area with improvements in front of the City Theater and handicap accessibility to City Hall. The project included a unique pergola structure at City Hall to serve as a gathering place and home to the City’s community Christmas tree. The project also replaced aging utilities and roadway beneath the enhancement improvements.
The enhancements on Maple Street have integrated it aesthetically into the City’s downtown area, building on existing themes and increasing walk-ability in the area. The project preserved and better defined on-street and off-street parking, which is vital to the downtown area. We also assisted the City in obtaining over $400,000 in grants for this $1.25 million dollar project.
