2nd Annual Spirit Week, Day 3

F&V staffers showed off their crazy socks and giving spirit for our “Giving Wednesday” charity raffle. Each donation gave staffers a chance to win cool gift cards, live up to our culture principle of “we care and help give back to the communities we work in,” and support some amazing charities:

Grand Blanc and Farmington Hills united to support FISH of Grand Blanc, whose goal is for “neighbors to help neighbors.” FISH collects food and clothes, and creates Christmas baskets and back to school backpacks for families in need.

Indiana offices Indianapolis and Fort Wayne also united to support Second Helpings, whose goal is to “transform lives through food.” Second Helpings rescue prepared and perishable food from wholesalers, retailers and restaurants — preventing unnecessary waste. That rescued food is used to create 4,000 hot, nutritious meals each day.

Traverse City is supporting Leelanau Christian Neighbors (LNC), who work to provide “food for the hungry and aid those who have inadequate resources to respond to emergencies in their lives.” The non-profit 501c(3) organization, founded in 1987, serves those in need through a food and baby pantry, a blessings in a back pack program and a neighborhood assistance ministry.

Grand Rapids supported  Heart of West Michigan United Way to adopt a family for the holiday season. We will use the money to buy items off the family’s wish list and give them a happy holiday during the hards times they’ve fallen upon.

Kalamazoo raised money for YWCA, whose goal is to be a place of hope, healing, and renewal. YWCA works to address the issues of domestic abuse and sexual violence that hurt individuals, families, and community.
