Food Bank of Eastern Michigan

F&V staff in Grand Blanc volunteer to sort through donated food and non-food items to help those in need through via the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. The food bank is a network of over 415 non-profit food providers, who together, are “Changing the Face of Hunger,” in eastern Michigan. More than 25 million pounds of items are distributed annually. Volunteers organize the items and place them in boxes on a pallet so when it comes time to put together care packages, items are easily located. “It’s rewarding knowing how many thousands of pounds our group sorts through,” said one F&V staffer, who has volunteered with his wife for the past four years.
