GRAND RAPIDS, MI – JANUARY 25, 2019 – Fleis & VandenBrink Principals announced today seven changes in its leadership/ownership team, including new Principal John DeVol.
Jon Moxey and Todd Richter were also named Senior Associates, and Julie Kroll, Jenn Chehab, Eric Walters, and Ben Kladder were named Associates.
“It’s exciting to announce the new Associates, Senior Associates, and Principal. It really shows the growth that we’re having, as well as the transition taking place with regards to the leadership and ownership of our team,” said Paul Galdes, F&V’s president and a Principal.
“It’s also very rewarding to see these new leaders grow in responsibility as the ownership transition plan we started over 13 years is implemented. The plan has provided some tremendous opportunities for our employees.”
The changes in the leadership and ownership transition team were announced during the firm’s annual breakfast, where company leaders – Principals, Senior Associates, Associates, and several other staff – made breakfast for more than 220 employees at eight different sites.
DeVol, a Senior Associate since 2017, joined F&V in 2004 as a project manager and has been providing key support in the West Michigan Municipal Services and Construction Management groups. DeVol runs the Traverse City office and specializes in municipal work such as water, sewer, roads and recreation projects and project funding.
Moxey has 20 years’ experience in structural and municipal engineering. He joined the Grand Rapids staff in 2001 and was named Associate in 2011. Moxey has been involved in a wide variety of projects including the design of roads, bridges, wastewater collection systems and water distribution systems.
Richter, who joined F&V in 1995, is the Construction Services Group manager. An Associate since 2006, Richter oversees the design and construction of transportation projects in Grand Rapids.
Kroll joined F&V in 2015 as a senior traffic engineer for the East Michigan Municipal Services Group in Farmington Hills. She has led the Traffic Services Group since 2017. Kroll has more than 18 years of experience in transportation engineering, working on both private and public sector projects in several states.
Chehab joined F&V in 2016 as a senior-level project and client manager for the East Michigan Services Municipal Group in Farmington Hills. With over 25 years’ municipal engineering experience, Chehab specializes in design and management of municipality utilities, infrastructure, road projects and site designs. She currently manages the Farmington Hills office.
Kladder, a civil engineer and project manager in the West Michigan Group, joined F&V’s Traverse City staff in 2007. He has over 19 years’ experience in municipal engineering including roadway construction and rehabilitation, multi-use pathways and parks, hydraulic modeling, and water and wastewater improvement projects. He also helps develop GIS solutions for communities.
Walters joined the Environmental Services Group in Grand Rapids in 1998. The senior project manager has over 20 years’ experience on clean-up investigation, groundwater remediation systems, permit compliance, wellhead protection studies and community drinking water supply well projects throughout the Midwest.
F&V, which was founded in 1993 by Larry Fleis and Steve Vanden Brink, started the Principal/Associate program in 2006 to promote leadership and ownership transition.
