The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is preparing to receive funding applications for bridge, road, safety, sidewalk or any type of project that is eligible under the Federal Transportation Highway Bill (FAST ACT).
A “Call for Projects” opens this week and closes on December 7th.
The City of Frankfort recently received funding from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) via INDOT to reconstruct a portion of South Maish Road, which serves as a main north-south corridor to the high school from residential sections of the City.
“The federal highway program allows rural communities like Frankfort to rebuild multi-million dollar roadways with beautiful sidewalks, designated bike lanes and enhanced motor vehicle lanes,” said Chris McBarnes, Frankfort’s mayor. “Without these dollars a project like this would never have been possible.”
