Large Watermain Replacement

Genesee County Drain Commission
Genesee County, MI

Project Overview

The Genesee County Drain Commissioner needed a redundant potable watermain to provide water to the Center Road Pump Station and Reservoir Complex in the event of the unavailability of the existing 72” watermain that currently provides potable water to the Center Road Complex. The existing 72” watermain was approximately 65 years old and susceptible to failure.

F&V provided fast-tracked design engineering of 7.5 miles of 42” watermain in the right-of-way as part of the 100-mile watermain replacement project in Genesee County. The watermain goes through the communities of Burton, Davison Township, and Richfield Township. The design was completed in under eight weeks from contract authorization to design completion.

The project plans were submitted under budget. Construction was completed in the Fall of 2017, and is currently in service, providing clean water to the residents of Genesee County.
