Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements

The City of Dexter had major components at its wastewater treatment plant on the verge of failure and there was a sense of urgency to expedite an improvement project since some of the critical equipment had exceeded its useful life.

New Influent pumps and tertiary filters were needed along with technology updates to improve the treatment capabilities of the Headworks equipment and tertiary filtration equipment to meet more stringent effluent limits.

F&V provided design, bid, construction phase engineering, and construction management services for the improvements.

The upgrades will not only reduce the amount of grit entering the treatment process and the wear and tear on pumps and other equipment, they will improve the digestion process when completed in the summer of 2019.
