The infrastructure for the Village of Bear Lake’s water supply system was deteriorating. Necessary improvements carried a hefty $4 million price tag.
F&V assisted the Village in preparing a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) and a USDA Rural Development Funding Application for Water System Improvements. The USDA-RD approved $2.5 million in grant funds and a $1.5 million loan for this project.
The project will involve replacement of existing wells and undersized water lines to improve flows, replacement of aged fire hydrants and valves along with installation of a water customer meter reading system. The updates will enable the Village to maintain the reliability of their water system and continue to provide high quality drinking water to its customers.
