Fleis & VandenBrink (F&V) will be showing off its new Indianapolis digs at an open house Thursday, Oct. 25 from 3 to 7 p.m.
The full-service architectural and engineering firm, which has been servicing the Indianapolis area since 2006, is now located at 5750 Castle Creek Parkway North Drive, Suite 300.
“The new office is incredible and the difference between the old and the new one is like night and day,” said Troy Stahl, Principal and F&V’s Indiana Group Manager. “We now have a much larger, more modern space to work in and better service clients.”
The new 4,800-square feet office is surrounded by a fitness trail and several restaurants. The old digs on the city’s east side were tucked behind a mall and had access challenges.
“The location is great, it’s more centrally located and easily accessible from major roads,” Stahl noted. “And there’s just a lot more amenities nearby and that can be a great recruiting tool as well.”
The new office was designed for future growth, providing more than twice the space of the previous location.
“We are excited about the success and growth we are having in the Indianapolis region and to be moving to some topnotch office space downtown,” said Paul Galdes, Principal and President of F&V. “This gives our clients better access to our offices and our employees an open and collaborative atmosphere to work in.”
Indianapolis is one of three F&V offices expanding in 2018 due to the company’s growth. In 2017, F&V ranked 30th among the fastest-growing architecture, engineering, planning and environmental consulting firms in the U.S. and Canada. F&V ranked 51st this year. The award recognizes three-year growth rate in gross revenue.
“We built the office space the way we wanted it,” Stahl said. “It’s got that contemporary feel to it – open ceilings, a decked break area, and a lot of windows that provide a bright work space.”
The new office has three meeting rooms – one large state-of-the-art conference room with all the technology for advanced videoconferencing, a shared conference room, and a small meeting room. There’s also a great balance of public and private spaces to work in.
F&V’s started serving clients in Indiana in July 2006 when it merged with Gove Associates, Inc. and took over offices in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne and two others in Michigan – Lansing and Kalamazoo.
“There were whispers when I first started that we’d be expanding or relocating, and it grew louder every year,” said Stahl, who joined F&V in the summer of 2011. “It’s exciting to be in the new office.”
F&V, which was named one of the nation’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For in 2017, celebrated its 25th anniversary earlier this year. Larry Fleis, F&V’s co-founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors, is pleased to see the office expansion in Indianapolis and at Michigan’s offices in Grand Rapids and Traverse City.
“We started the firm with two people and now have more than 220,” said Fleis, who started the company with engineer and friend Steve Vanden Brink in January 1993. “And in the past two years, we’ve out-grown four of our nine offices.”
“We’ve had amazing growth. It says we’re doing a lot of things right and that we’ve got clients that are very happy with us.”
