Exciting things are happening along Harvey Street in City of Hudsonville. The street extension project, which is part of the City’s 2030 Vision Plan, is designed with a woonerf concept – a term from the Netherlands which means “shared” or “living” street. This allows for shared vehicular bicycle and pedestrian use, and will connect the surrounding area to Terra Square – Hudsonville’s other newest venue. Designed with human scale in mind, elements include LED decorative lighting, overhead festoon lights, splash pad, turf seating areas, permeable precast paver drives, textured skin integral colored meandering concrete walkways, perennial plantings, hanging baskets, banners, planter pots and street trees will be added to bring the street to life. Construction is anticipated to be completed by early August.
