When did you know you wanted to be a surveyor? The first time I ever created a map on a computer in freshmen year of college.
What would most people be surprised to learn about the surveying field? It is highly technical and there are many different fields of GIS.
What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on at F&V, and why? The Village of Pentwater Land Use and Zoning Maps has been my favorite project at F&V. I enjoyed this project because it was based solely on GIS and that is rare when you work at a company with many disciplines.
How has working at F&V helped shape your life and/or career? It has afforded me the opportunity to grow as a professional and as a person through a great working environment and incredible people to work with.
If you could give your younger self career advice, what would it be? Don’t try to choose your career, your career will happen naturally.
