Project Summary
F&V provided six underwater bridge inspections in Kalamazoo County to make sure that the safe use of the structure by public to National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS), AASHTO standards, and MDOT standards. Work included providing bridge file review, field inspection, reports, and communications of the findings and recommendations to the RCKC. All bridges were inspected following the OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910, Subpart T – Commercial Diving Operations guidelines.
Our reports found that all submerged substructure bridge units were in sound condition and are safe for public use. Our report provided detailed streambed profiles, sounding plans, and photographs for use of the Road Commission to continue monitoring the condition of the substructure units.
