Scientists and engineers at F&V have experience designing, building, operating, upgrading, and maintaining water and wastewater treatment plants and facilities to protect human health and the environment, and to efficiently deliver clean water to its users.

In the Kalamazoo area, we have designed and/or constructed water and wastewater treatment systems in Bangor, Bloomingdale, Paw Paw, Plainwell, Sturgis, and more.

Our team was proud to receive the APWA Southwest MI Project of the Year award for the Market Street pump station improvements in Sturgis, Michigan.

Our staff has provided environmental services for many private and municipal projects. Some projects include Brownfield Redevelopment in the City of Kalamazoo and PFAS Investigation in the City of Sturgis.

Our approach to site development works to find a balance of site performance and budget objectives to enhance the economic viability of your site, no matter the size. We make sure your goals are understood and met on-budget. We assist with local agency approval to move your project closer to reality. Locally, we assisted we provided site design services for the Apartments at Sauk Trail in Coldwater.

F&V believes that every successful project starts with a good survey. Over the years, the fundamental principles of land surveying haven’t changed — but the technology used has. Our survey team couples experience with the latest in technology to provide conventional surveys and specialty services to complete your project accurately, efficiently, and on time.

One notable survey project in the Kalamazoo area was the Kalamazoo Riverbank Stabilization project. This project won Eminent Conceptor (1st Place) in the American Council of Engineering Companies’ (ACEC) annual contest in the survey category.

Construction engineering projects at F&V include observing, reporting, and the ability to provide testing on behalf of the owner’s contract. Every project needs oversight – which is why our approach to construction engineering, inspection, and testing focuses on safeguarding that the project is built to the plan and specifications. We want the owner of the project to receive the value and quality needed out of final construction as well as long-term use.

In 2008, we enlisted the help of our own staff to design and build our new Kalamazoo office building. Our team provided site engineering and architectural and landscape design of the site to fit Western Michigan University’s Business Technology Park. We updated our building again in 2020.

From transporting people down the street to the other side of the state, we design transportation solutions to meet your needs.

Our traffic engineers work with municipal, businesses, and private development clients to solve traffic issues. We handle everything from traffic analysis to design and operations to finding safe and efficient movement on your roads.

F&V has assisted with many traffic studies and road safety audits throughout Southwest Michigan and beyond. Local communities we have served include: Mattawan, Sturgis, and Three Rivers.

In addition to our core services, F&V’s diverse team also provides specialty services to meet each client’s unique needs. Additional service areas F&V can provide include asset management, project funding and financing, and underwater diving inspections.

Some local specialty projects included bridge safety inspections of structures along the Kalamazoo River and funding applications for various communities throughout Southwest Michigan.
