F&V was founded in Grand Rapids, MI, as a civil/municipal engineering company in 1993. Since then, we’ve expanded to nine offices throughout Michigan and Indiana. Our Grand Blanc Office opened in 2010 when F&V merged with Gould Engineering, Inc. and added a central Michigan and Thumb area presence. Today, our core service is civil/municipal engineering.

Our Grand Blanc process group designs, permits, and constructs first-class water and wastewater plants. With the largest team of process engineers in Michigan, we can determine your water and wastewater engineering needs.

We have designed and/or constructed water and wastewater treatment systems in the City of Lapeer and Grand Blanc.

F&V’s extensive environmental group consists of engineers, scientists, geologists, and field technicians. The group brings sound solutions to intricate environmental problems.

We provide environmental engineering for municipalities, industries, private developers, and state agencies in and around central Michigan. Our projects include GM Fisher Guide Chevy Commons – the site, widely known as “Chevy in the Hole,” was once the heart of Chevrolet’s worldwide manufacturing operations. As part of the due care evaluation, F&V completed an inventory and evaluation of sewer outfalls and lines discharging into the Flint River, a condition assessment of the flood control structure and prepared bid specs. In late 2021, Governor Whitmer announced that this site would become a new urban State Park.

Our award-winning surveyors and GIS specialists at F&V provide GIS and land surveying services.

Our team of surveyors work with various F&V groups on projects, such as airport staking at the Bishop International Airport in Flint, and Utility System for GIS in Grand Blanc.

The construction engineers at F&V work hard to design, plan, construct, and manage infrastructures across the Thumb and central Michigan area.

F&V provided design and construction engineering services for a single span, four-lane bridge structure in Genesee County. We were also recognized as an APAM/MDOT Asphalt Paving Award Winner” (2,500-20,000 tons category) “Richfield Road” – Genesee County Road Commission.

One of these projects included the Coldwater Road Rehabilitation in Mount Morris. Phase 1 included removal of the existing four-lane road to subgrade and replacing it with a three-lane HMA roadway. All drainage structures and storm sewer beneath the new road were also replaced.

At F&V our traffic engineers take on projects that focus on traffic analysis, design, and operations. We help municipal, businesses, and private development clients accomplish safe and productive movement of people and goods on roadways.

Some local projects include a road diet in Flint, a traffic impact study in Grand Blanc, and a signal optimization in St. Clair County.

We have experts in asset management, project funding and financing, and underwater diving inspections who can help address the specific needs of your project.

Specialty projects include securing SAW funding for the City of Lapeer and an underwater dive inspection for engaged mussels at the US-23 bridge over the Huron River.
