Newsletter: Countdown to Compliance: Indiana’s 2026 Water Loss Audit
Indiana water utilities are required to submit a validated Water Loss Audit every two years, so preparing for the 2026 audit is essential. Because the process can be time‑consuming and requires certified validation, many communities partner with experienced firms. Fleis & VandenBrink (F&V) has certified validators on staff, and typically completes 20–25 validations each cycle. F&V works directly with communities to review findings, compare current results to past audits, and identify practical ways to reduce system losses and improve performance.
Starting early is strongly recommended, especially since utilities must finish their prior year’s financials before beginning the audit. The validated audit is due August 1, 2026.
