Project Summary
The Michigan Department of Corrections required assistance with the demolition of several obsolete structures at their Jackson Correctional Facility. The structures include former farm barracks and barns, training facilities, garage structures, and a greenhouse facility. While not an immediate danger, the structures were aging and the DTMB wanted to minimize injury to employees and potential trespassers.
F&V provided demolish management services for the project. We conducted hazardous materials assessments, prepared biddable specifications for asbestos abatement and demolition, assisted with bid management and contractor selection, underground storage tank closure, and provided observation and documentation of the abatement and demolition process.
