Project Summary
The former Ionia County Memorial Hospital was outdated and inefficient after serving the residents of Ionia County for 60+ years. A new, updated hospital replaced it in 2015. Officials opted to repurpose the site and enhance the parking lot rather than let the site, with asbestos, fall into despair.
F&V conducted hazardous materials assessments; surveying; prepared specs for asbestos abatement, demolition, and architectural engineering services; assisted with underground storage tank closure; and provided consultation during the demolition process and heliport removal.
The site was put back into productive use and ready for future growth. And a clinic, connected to the site via a tunnel, was able to stay open throughout the demolition phase.
