Newsletter: Fiscal Responsibility is Key to Infrastructure Improvement
Michigan community leaders are tasked with funding infrastructure improvements while balancing budgets. Key to this are Asset Management Plans (AMPs) and Capital Improvement Plans (CIPs). AMPs inventory community assets, while CIPs outline and prioritize projects and funding strategies.
Communities can choose to pay as they go or finance larger projects through bonds and grants. Agencies like USDA Rural Development, Michigan’s State Revolving Loan Program, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation offer support.
Brown City has successfully used Fleis & VandenBrink (F&V) for funding, securing low-interest loans and grants. For help with AMPs, CIPs, and funding, contact F&V experts Chris Hennessy at 989.284.3649 or Matt Biolette at 616.422.5234, or email chennessy@fveng.com and mbiolette@fveng.com.
