Press Release Header 2024

Sagasser & Associates, Inc. of Gaylord is now a part of Fleis & VandenBrink Engineering, Inc. (F&V), strengthening and expanding environmental consulting services throughout Michigan.

Sagasser & Associates and F&V have been respected peers in the environmental consulting industry for many years. The merger enhances F&V’s environmental capabilities and broadens its reach in northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.

“The merger is an exciting development for us,” said Brian Rice, F&V’s Environmental Group Manager and Principal. “Sagasser & Associates brings a wealth of expertise and experience in environmental consulting that will undoubtedly strengthen our team.”

“Their innovative approach and commitment to excellence align perfectly with our values and mission,” Rice added. “I am thrilled with the collaborative opportunities this merger presents, as it will allow us to leverage our combined strengths and deliver even greater value to our clients.”

Established in 1993, F&V is an employee-owned, multi-disciplined civil engineering firm with eight offices across Michigan, including its headquarters in Grand Rapids, and three offices in Indiana.

Sagasser & Associates, founded in 1995, and is a full-service environmental firm specializing in environmental site evaluation, assessments, remediation evaluation, and remedial system design.

Kevin D. Sagasser, president of Sagasser & Associates, said the move positions the firm for continued growth and expanded service offerings.

“The additional professional and support staff F&V provides will allow us to expand our presence in Gaylord and northern Michigan, including the Upper Peninsula,” Sagasser said.

John DeVol, F&V’s president, said Sagasser is a welcome addition.

“We’ve added some outstanding new team members in Gaylord, and we have grown in strength, stature, and capability,” DeVol said. “The services and culture Kevin built over the years at Sagasser & Associates are a natural fit with F&V.”

F&V has grown to more than 300 multi-disciplined professionals providing engineering, contract operations, and construction management services throughout Michigan and Indiana. In addition to its engineering services, F&V has expanded through the creation of sister companies F&V Operations and Resource Management (FVOP) and F&V Construction (FVC).

F&V is an employee-owned firm and has been named a Zweig Group “Hot Firm” in the nation for 11 years in a row, “Best & Brightest” in the nation for four years, and “Best & Brightest Companies to Work For” 11 years in a row.
